Career Planning and Development for Youth
Metis has worked extensively with School-To-Career and other school based career planning programs in the development of long-range plans to address workforce development needs. Metis Associates' skill in strategic planning has been especially helpful in bringing workplace partner organizations and educational institutions together. Metis work has included efforts to empower local Industry Advisory Boards (IABs) made up of educators, youth, industry professionals and members of the community who collaborate to find solutions.
In the course of this work Metis gathers baseline data and tracks implementation progress. We often conduct surveys of employers, conduct longitudinal studies of high school graduates, identify best practices and assess the quality and consistency of implementation. Our evaluation work often requires that we involve our staff skilled in information technology. Our planning efforts and evaluations are enhanced by analyses performed using data extracted from management information systems in the states' education departments, interagency follow-up systems, or community college systems.
