Metis Celebrates 30 Year Anniversary

August 2007 marked the 30th anniversary of Metis Associates.  Staff gathered at a retreat on August 17 to reflect on our past, celebrate our collective accomplishments on behalf of our clients, and plan for our future. 

From our humble beginnings in the 1980s, to a dramatic expansion in the 1990s, to the deepening of our roots in public education, child welfare, juvenile justice and youth development during this decade, Metis’ growth has been dynamic.  That growth is not only reflected in the size of our staff and number of current projects but in the long-standing and productive relationships we’ve established with our clients – foundations, school districts, community-based organizations, and city and state agencies in New York City and across the country.  
 
At the anniversary celebration following the retreat, Stan offered a toast to the many clients who have put their trust and confidence in Metis, noting the remarkable work they do to improve the lives of children and families, and thanked the staff for their dedication in working together with our clients toward needed reform.
